How Phoenix Rise handles information in the app and on this website.

Effective date: August 17, 2026 · Last updated: August 20, 2026

The short version

Phoenix Rise does not require an account. Your alarms, name, gratitude entries, wake-task progress, preferences, and imported audio or video stay on your iPhone. Arise Health does not receive that content.

Phoenix Rise uses RevenueCat to offer and manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives limited purchase and technical information when the app checks subscription access, displays subscription options, processes a purchase, or restores a purchase. Apple processes payments through the App Store. We do not receive your card number or billing details.

The Phoenix Rise website does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes ordinary web-request information to deliver and protect the site.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Arise Health LLC, 17225 Bollinger Canyon Rd, Unit B223, San Ramon, CA 94582, United States, is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Arise Health LLC is registered in California, United States. This policy covers the Phoenix Rise iOS app, the website at phoenix-rise.app, and messages you send to our support address.

Contact us at phoenix@arisehealth.io with privacy questions or requests.

2. Information handled by Phoenix Rise

Information kept on your iPhone

The app processes the following information locally:

  • Alarm details, including time, repeat days, selected sound or imported media, wake task, and enabled status
  • Your preferred name, if you enter one
  • Gratitude entries and their dates and times
  • In-progress morning conversations and wake-task state so an interrupted flow can resume
  • Imported audio or video files, file names, and related library information
  • Preferences, such as volume, morning-ritual choices, and dismissed suggestions

Arise Health does not receive this content. The app has no cloud account or cloud-sync service. The app's analytics code keeps a short event buffer in memory for local testing and does not transmit it.

Some temporary task and conversation state stops being eligible for recovery after six hours. Completed and incomplete morning records may remain on your device until you delete them or until the app's local limit of 400 records removes older records.

Subscription and purchase information

Phoenix Rise uses RevenueCat, Inc. to display subscription options and determine whether Premium access is active. RevenueCat may receive information before you buy a subscription because the app checks available products and subscription status.

The information may include:

  • A RevenueCat-generated anonymous app user identifier
  • Subscription product, purchase, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, and entitlement status
  • App Store receipt or transaction information
  • Device type, operating system, app version, locale, currency, and timestamps such as when the app last checked RevenueCat
  • IP address and an approximate country inferred from it

Phoenix Rise does not send RevenueCat your name, email address, gratitude entries, imported media, step information, advertising identifier, or precise location. We do not use RevenueCat customer attributes or advertising integrations.

We use this information to display subscription options, process and restore purchases, prevent entitlement fraud, provide Premium access, handle refunds and support, and review aggregate subscription performance. For people in the EEA, UK, and other places that require a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract for subscription processing, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the subscription system.

Apple processes App Store payments and related account information under Apple's Privacy Policy. Arise Health does not receive your card number or full billing information.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to answer your request, provide support, keep necessary business records, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Our legal bases are our legitimate interests in providing support and running the service, performance of a contract where the message concerns a subscription, and legal obligations where applicable.

Website request information

The Phoenix Rise website does not contain advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or marketing forms, and it does not set advertising cookies. Vercel hosts the site and processes ordinary request and security information, such as IP address, approximate city or country derived from IP, browser and device information, requested page, referring page, and request time. We use this processing to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and prevent fraud or abuse. Vercel may also process service-generated logs under its own terms.

3. Permissions and device features

Phoenix Rise asks for access only when a feature needs it:

  • Alarms: The app uses Apple's AlarmKit to schedule and manage alarms on your device.
  • Files and Personal Media: If you choose to add your own audio or video, Apple's Files picker gives Phoenix access only to the item you select. Phoenix accepts MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, CAF, and AIFF audio, and MP4, M4V, and MOV video, subject to a 250 MB limit. It copies the selected item into Phoenix's private on-device storage so the app can use it later. Phoenix does not upload that copy to Arise Health, RevenueCat, or a Phoenix cloud service.
  • Microphone and speech recognition — “Say it out loud”: In the Ember gratitude experience, you can choose “Say it out loud” to dictate into the text field. Phoenix requests microphone access and speech-recognition access only when you start that option. The app requests on-device recognition and starts it with recording persistence disabled. Phoenix does not save an audio recording or transmit the dictated words to Arise Health, RevenueCat, or a Phoenix cloud service. The words shown in the text field become part of your local gratitude entry only if you choose to submit them.

The current release does not make Step Into Your Day available as a runnable Wake Task and does not process Motion & Fitness data for that task. Phoenix's Personal Media flow uses the Files picker; its source does not call a Photos picker. Phoenix does not use your location, camera, contacts, calendar, HealthKit records, or advertising identifier.

You can change permissions in iOS Settings > Phoenix Rise. Turning off microphone or speech-recognition access means you can still type or choose a starter in Ember instead. If Files access or a selected file is unavailable, choose another eligible file from Files. Turning off another permission may stop its related feature from working.

4. How we disclose information

We disclose limited information to:

  • RevenueCat, Inc., which processes subscription and technical information for subscription administration, entitlement checks, fraud prevention, and subscription reporting
  • Apple, which independently processes App Store payments, purchase records, and Apple Account information
  • Vercel Inc., which hosts and secures the website and processes website request logs
  • Service providers used for email, if you contact us
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and the service
  • A successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to this policy and applicable law

Our processors must protect personal information under contracts and applicable law. RevenueCat and Vercel may use subprocessors to provide their services.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because Phoenix Rise does not track activity across other companies' apps or websites.

5. Retention and deletion

Information on your iPhone

  • Delete one saved morning from its detail screen.
  • Use Settings > Your data > Delete all data to cancel saved alarms and remove Phoenix Rise records stored in the app's local database. This control does not remove imported media files.
  • Delete an imported audio or video item from My Media to remove its library entry and request deletion of its copied file.
  • Delete the app to remove its data from the iPhone. Copies may remain in an iCloud or computer backup controlled through your Apple settings.

The app may keep up to 400 morning records. Older records fall outside that limit as new records are saved. Recoverable wake-task and conversation state expires after six hours, although stale local data may remain until the app clears, overwrites, or deletes it.

Subscription, support, and website information

We retain subscription information while it is needed to provide access and support purchases, restores, refunds, chargebacks, accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. RevenueCat keeps data under its retention practices and our agreement with it.

We keep support messages only as long as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Vercel retains website logs under its retention practices. When information is no longer needed, we or our processors delete or de-identify it, subject to backups and legal obligations.

To request deletion of information held through RevenueCat or our support systems, email phoenix@arisehealth.io. We may ask for limited information needed to locate the record, such as App Store transaction information. Canceling a subscription does not by itself erase transaction records. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account's subscription settings.

6. International transfers

Arise Health, RevenueCat, and Vercel are based in the United States, and their subprocessors may operate in other countries. This means subscription, support, and website request information may be processed outside your country.

We will use a transfer mechanism required by applicable law for a restricted transfer. We do not identify a specific contractual transfer mechanism in this policy because the applicable provider terms and Arise Health's acceptance status must be verified before a more specific statement is made. You may ask us for information about the safeguards that apply to your data.

Your alarms, gratitude entries, name, imported media, and step information are not transferred to Arise Health, RevenueCat, or Vercel by the app.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Ask whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive portable information you provided to us
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
  • Appeal a refusal where local law provides that right
  • Complain to a privacy or data-protection authority

Email phoenix@arisehealth.io to exercise a right. We will verify and respond to requests as required by the law that applies to you. Authorized agents may submit requests where local law permits. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Most app content never reaches us. Use the in-app controls described in section 5 to view or delete that content. If we cannot connect a RevenueCat record to you from the information you provide, we may explain that limitation rather than collect unnecessary identity documents.

People in the EEA may find their supervisory authority through the European Data Protection Board. People in the UK may contact the Information Commissioner's Office. You do not need to contact us before making a complaint.

8. Children

Phoenix Rise is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in a way that requires parental consent under applicable law. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact phoenix@arisehealth.io so we can review and delete it where required.

9. Security

Phoenix Rise stores app content in the app's iOS sandbox. Your device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, operating-system updates, and backup settings affect the protection of data on your device. Subscription and website information travels over encrypted connections. RevenueCat, Vercel, and our other providers maintain their own security programs.

No system can guarantee complete security. Contact us if you believe your information has been compromised.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before a new app or website practice makes the current description inaccurate. We will change the date above and provide any notice or consent required by law. Previous versions are available on request.
